Delete Your Account
You have the right to be forgotten. Leaving SafeSpend is just as easy as joining.
What happens when you delete your account?
This is a permanent action. If you proceed:
- Your TrueLayer bank connections will be immediately severed.
- All your financial data, transaction history, and bill rules will be permanently erased from our servers.
- Your user profile and Google Login link will be destroyed.
How to delete your account inside the app:
- Open the SafeSpend app on your device.
- Tap Settings on the bottom navigation bar.
- Scroll down to the red Danger Zone section.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Press and hold the "Hold to Delete Account" button for 3 seconds. The app will immediately wipe your data and log you out.
How to request deletion via email:
If you no longer have access to the app, you can request an account wipe by emailing our support team.
Send an email to privacy@safespend.co.uk from the email address associated with your Google account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will process this within 7 days.
