SafeSpend connects to your bank using a regulated partner called TrueLayer. This connection is strictly read-only.
- We cannot move your money.
- We cannot see your bank login passwords or PINs.
- We cannot make payments on your behalf.
We only look at your balance and transaction history to calculate your Safe To Spend number.
2. What data do we store?
To make the app work instantly when you open it, we securely store:
- Your basic profile (Email and Name, via Google Login).
- A history of your recent transactions (to find your regular bills).
- The "Rules" you create (e.g., telling us that your £12.99 Netflix charge is a monthly bill).
3. What we will NEVER do
- We will never sell your personal or financial data to third parties.
- We will never show you targeted third-party ads based on your spending habits.
4. Community Labels
When you rename a messy bank transaction (like "AMZN MKTP") to a clear name (like "Amazon"), we anonymously share that translation with the SafeSpend community so everyone benefits. Your personal details, account numbers, and transaction amounts are never attached to this.
5. Advertising and Cookies
We use Google AdSense to serve ads on certain pages of this website. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.
